Best Shopify Apps for Black Friday and Cyber Monday (BFCM) 2026: 20 Apps by Category

Best Shopify apps for BFCM 2026: 20 apps across cart recovery, email and SMS, offers and bundles, upsells and cart, urgency, pop-ups, and reviews and social proof

Black Friday falls on November 27 this year and Cyber Monday on November 30. Adobe expects US shoppers to spend $47.5 billion online across Cyber Week, and most of that traffic arrives in short, intense bursts. The apps you rely on that weekend need to be installed, configured and tested before then, not during.

This guide covers 20 of the best Shopify apps for BFCM, grouped by the job they do: recovering carts, sending campaigns, building offers, raising order value, creating urgency, capturing emails and earning trust. You don't need all of them. Most stores need one app per job, and the section on building your app stack explains how to choose.

Disclosure: CareCart makes four of the apps on this list (Cartly, Timex, Wheelify and SP Sales Pop). They were held to the same criteria as every other app, and two other CareCart apps didn't make the cut.

How we chose these apps

We started with the first 24 apps Shopify lists in each of 12 relevant App Store categories, 230 listings in total. We kept apps rated 4.7 or higher with at least 200 reviews, then chose based on:

  • Review volume and rating
  • Whether the app carries Shopify's Built for Shopify badge, which Shopify awards for performance, design and integration
  • How directly it helps with a BFCM problem
  • Whether it does something different from the other apps in its category
  • Whether a free plan or trial lets you test it first

Ratings, review counts and prices were checked on the Shopify App Store on November 5, 2026. They change often, so confirm them on each listing before you install. Within each category, apps are listed by number of reviews.

Best Shopify apps for abandoned cart recovery

Carts get abandoned at a higher rate when shoppers are comparing deals across tabs, which is exactly how BFCM shopping works. Recovery messages work best when they arrive before the deal ends, so speed and channel matter. Pick the channel your customers actually read.

Dondy: WhatsApp marketing and chat

4.9833 reviewsFree; Pro $6.99/moBuilt for Shopify

Dondy covers WhatsApp from a simple chat button up to fully automated campaigns through the WhatsApp Business API. It's Built for Shopify.

  • BFCM use: automated WhatsApp abandoned cart recovery, bulk campaigns to Shopify segments, and an AI chatbot for sales questions on the higher plans.
  • Pricing: free chat button; Pro at $6.99/month adds manual cart recovery. Automated recovery and campaigns start on the Power Automation plan at $79.99/month, plus WhatsApp per-message rates.
  • Best for: stores whose customers prefer WhatsApp, including many COD markets. Read our guide to WhatsApp pricing after Meta's October 2026 change before you budget for automated messages.

TxtCart AI: SMS marketing

4.9566 reviews$29/mo minimum + usage

TxtCart AI is an SMS app built around automated flows and an AI agent that answers replies, handles objections and recommends products by text.

  • BFCM use: abandoned cart, browse and winback text flows, plus SMS campaigns segmented by Shopify tags and purchase history.
  • Pricing: $29/month minimum on Starter, with $500 in free trial credits; SMS, MMS and carrier fees are billed on top. The AI agent costs $0.99 per resolution.
  • Best for: brands that already collect phone numbers and want two-way SMS without a full marketing suite.

Cartly Abandoned Cart Recovery

4.8250 reviewsFree; Pro $14.99/mo

Cartly focuses on one job: recovering carts, not just abandoned checkouts. It captures the shopper's email with a pop-up before they reach checkout, then follows up by email and web push. (A CareCart app.)

  • BFCM use: recover carts from shoppers who never reached checkout, which Shopify's built-in abandoned checkout emails can't reach. A cart reminder flags the cart while the shopper is still browsing.
  • Pricing: free plan with 100 recovery emails and unlimited push notifications; Pro is $14.99/month for unlimited emails.
  • Best for: smaller stores that want dedicated cart recovery without paying for a full email platform. See which abandoned carts are actually recoverable for how it fits.

Also worth a look: Wiz (5.0, 230 reviews, Built for Shopify) for AI-written recovery emails, though its free plan is limited to development stores.

Best Shopify apps for email and SMS campaigns

Your BFCM email list is built in October and sold to in November. These apps handle the campaigns themselves: early access, launch day, last chance and post-sale.

Shopify Messaging

4.84,795 reviewsFree for 10,000 emails/mo

Shopify Messaging, formerly Shopify Email, sends email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns from inside Shopify Admin, with templates and Shopify's Sidekick AI for editing.

Klaviyo

4.73,429 reviewsFree; Email $20/mo

Klaviyo is a full marketing platform used by more than 117,000 brands, according to its listing, with email, SMS and WhatsApp, AI-built segments and 350+ integrations.

  • BFCM use: segment by purchase history and engagement, then run flows like browse abandonment, back-in-stock and winback alongside campaigns.
  • Pricing: free up to 250 active profiles and 500 emails/month; Email from $20/month and SMS from $15/month, rising with list size.
  • Best for: growing stores with larger lists that need detailed segmentation and reporting.

Omnisend

4.73,201 reviewsFree; Standard $16/mo

Omnisend combines email, SMS, web push and sign-up forms, including spin-to-win, in one app.

  • Pricing: free for 250 contacts and 500 emails/month; Standard from $16/month; SMS from $0.007 per message on Pro.
  • Best for: small and mid-sized stores that want one tool for capture and campaigns, with 24/7 support even on the free plan.

Best Shopify apps for discounts, free gifts and bundles

The offer is the heart of BFCM. These apps decide how the discount is calculated and shown, so use one per offer type to avoid two apps applying discounts to the same cart.

Kaching Bundles

5.06,612 reviews$14.99/moBuilt for Shopify

Kaching Bundles is the most-reviewed bundle app we checked. It specialises in quantity breaks ("buy 2, save 10%") and bundle deals, with built-in A/B testing. It's Built for Shopify.

  • BFCM use: raise order value with tiered quantity discounts on product pages.
  • Pricing: Starter $14.99/month (up to $1,000 of additional revenue), with a 7-day free trial; free only on development stores.
  • Best for: single-product or consumable brands where buying more units makes sense.

BOGOS: Free Gift Bundle Upsell

5.04,610 reviewsFree; Basic $29.99/moBuilt for Shopify

BOGOS runs buy-one-get-one, buy X get Y and free-gift-with-purchase offers, with progress bars and gifts added to the cart automatically. It's Built for Shopify.

  • BFCM use: "spend $100, get a free gift" offers that lift order value without a deeper discount.
  • Pricing: free for 30 lifetime orders; Basic $29.99/month includes 300 orders, then $0.05 per extra order.
  • Best for: brands that would rather give a gift than cut prices.

Fast Bundles (FBP)

5.03,634 reviews$19/mo

Fast Bundles builds mix-and-match bundles, build-your-own boxes and AI-powered frequently bought together offers.

  • Best for: catalogues with complementary products that work well as gift sets.

Discounty: Bulk Discount Sales

4.91,307 reviewsFree; paid from $9.90/moBuilt for Shopify

Discounty is a bulk price editor and discount app. It puts thousands of products on sale with a scheduled start and end, and shows compare-at prices and sale badges. It's Built for Shopify.

  • BFCM use: schedule your sitewide sale to start and end automatically, with tiered and cart-level discounts in the same campaign.
  • Pricing: free for 10 discounted variants; paid plans currently start at $1 for the first month as a Black Friday offer, then $9.90/month.
  • Best for: stores running large, time-boxed sales across many products.

Best Shopify apps for upsells, cart and free shipping

Most BFCM decisions are made in the cart. These apps make the cart work harder: showing how close the shopper is to free shipping, suggesting add-ons, and offering one more item after payment.

ReConvert (Upsell.com)

4.83,131 reviewsFree up to 50 orders

ReConvert, now Upsell.com, is best known for one-click post-purchase upsells that shoppers accept without re-entering payment details.

  • BFCM use: add offers to the thank you page, when the shopper has already bought and trust is highest. It also covers product page and cart upsells.
  • Pricing: free up to 50 orders; Growth plans start at $9.99/month. Checkout upsells require Shopify Plus.
  • Best for: stores that want extra revenue without adding steps before checkout.

Hextom: Free Shipping Bar

4.93,048 reviewsFree; Premium $9.99/mo

Free Shipping Bar does one thing well: it shows a progress message telling shoppers how much more to spend for free shipping.

  • BFCM use: schedule a lower holiday threshold in advance, and target different offers by country or Shopify Market.
  • Pricing: free plan with a fully customizable bar; Premium $9.99/month adds unlimited bars, geo targeting and auto scheduling.
  • Best for: any store with a free shipping threshold. Extra costs are the most common reason shoppers abandon checkout, so this is a cheap place to start.

Kaching CartDrawer Cart Upsell

5.01,608 reviews$9.99/moBuilt for Shopify

Kaching CartDrawer replaces your cart with a customizable slide-out drawer that includes upsells, a free shipping bar, an urgency timer and trust badges. It's Built for Shopify.

  • BFCM use: turn the cart into an upsell surface, with add-on toggles like gift wrap or shipping protection.
  • Pricing: from $9.99/month for up to 99 orders, with a 14-day free trial.
  • Best for: stores whose theme cart is basic. If you use this, you probably don't need a separate free shipping bar app.

Best Shopify apps for urgency and countdowns

Urgency works when it's true. A countdown should end when the sale ends, and a low-stock message should reflect real inventory. Fake timers frustrate shoppers and have drawn regulators' attention. Our guide to urgency that shoppers believe covers the details.

Essential Countdown Timer Bar

5.01,739 reviewsFree; Starter $6.99/mo

Essential Countdown Timer Bar adds timers to top bars, product pages, landing pages, the cart and emails, with scheduled and recurring options.

  • BFCM use: a storewide countdown to the end of your Cyber Monday offer, scheduled ahead of time.
  • Pricing: free up to 1,000 monthly views; Starter $6.99/month adds scheduled and recurring timers.
  • Best for: stores that want flexible timer placements across the whole store.

Timex BFCM Low Stock Urgency

4.8239 reviewsFreeBuilt for Shopify

Timex combines low-stock counters with cart and sale countdowns on product and cart pages. It's Built for Shopify. (A CareCart app.)

  • BFCM use: show genuine stock levels on fast-selling products, and remind shoppers that their cart is waiting.
  • Pricing: free.
  • Best for: stores that want stock-based urgency at no cost. Many timer apps focus on time, not stock.

Best Shopify apps for pop-ups and email capture

The email list you sell to on Black Friday is built in the weeks before it. These apps capture subscribers; pair them with one of the email apps above.

Pop Convert

4.98,688 reviewsFree; $15/moBuilt for Shopify

Pop Convert is an all-in-one pop-up app with smart bars, banners, spin wheels, 250+ templates and A/B testing. It's Built for Shopify.

Wheelify Spin Wheel Email Pop

4.7661 reviewsFree; Basic $9.99/mo

Wheelify is a dedicated spin-to-win app, and the most-reviewed one we found. Shoppers enter their email to spin for a discount code, delivered by email. (A CareCart app.)

  • BFCM use: turn early-access codes into a game, with exit-intent triggers, A/B testing and protection against shoppers winning more than once.
  • Pricing: free for 300 wheel impressions; Basic $9.99/month for unlimited impressions.
  • Best for: brands whose audience responds to games and giveaways. See our guide to spin-to-win pop-ups for setup tips.

Best Shopify apps for reviews and social proof

BFCM brings shoppers who have never bought from you. Reviews and signs that other people are buying give them the confidence to buy at a discount instead of waiting.

Judge.me Product Reviews

Judge.me is the most-reviewed app on this list, with nearly 50,000 reviews. Its free plan includes unlimited reviews, photo and video reviews and Google rich snippets. It's Built for Shopify.

Loox Product Reviews

Loox specialises in photo and video reviews, with AI that sorts the best visual reviews first and translates them for international shoppers. It's Built for Shopify.

  • BFCM use: visual proof on product pages, plus post-purchase referrals to turn holiday buyers into advocates.
  • Pricing: free up to 500 orders; Convert $49.99/month adds video reviews, AI features and referrals.

  • Pricing: free up to 500 visitors a month; Basic $6.99/month for unlimited visitors.
  • Best for: stores that want several small conversion tools in one lightweight app instead of installing four. If you use it, check which of its tools you already have elsewhere. Our guide to ecommerce social proof covers where it works best.

How to build your BFCM app stack without overlap

The best BFCM app stack is the smallest one that covers every job. Two apps doing the same job can apply discounts twice, show conflicting messages, and slow your store down at the worst possible moment.

Follow one rule: one app per job. Then combine apps that hand off to each other:

  • Cart recovery + email marketing: let your email app handle campaigns and your recovery app handle carts, or use one platform for both. Don't run two abandoned cart sequences at once.
  • Spin-to-win + email capture: a game pop-up collects the email; your email app sends the early-access campaign.
  • Sales notifications + reviews: pop-ups show that people are buying; reviews show what they thought.
  • Countdown timers + discounts: set the timer to the exact end time configured in your discount app, so the two never disagree.
Diagram of a BFCM app stack with one app per job, showing how cart recovery pairs with email, spin-to-win with email capture, sales notifications with reviews, and countdown timers with discounts

Watch for hidden overlap. Cart drawers often include free shipping bars and timers. Some social proof apps include countdowns. Pop-up apps may include spin wheels. List what each app does before installing the next one.

Finally, check speed. Every app adds scripts, and BFCM traffic is mostly mobile. Remove apps you won't use, and test your product and cart pages on a phone after each install.

BFCM app preparation checklist

  • By mid-November: install and configure every app; remove anything you're not using.
  • Test cart recovery: abandon a cart yourself and confirm each email, text or WhatsApp message arrives with a working link.
  • Set discount priority: decide which app applies which discount, and test that offers don't stack in ways you didn't intend.
  • Schedule everything: sale start and end, countdown timers, free shipping thresholds and campaigns.
  • Check mobile: go through the product page, cart and checkout on a real phone over a mobile connection.
  • Check plan limits: make sure free-plan caps on views, orders or subscribers won't run out on Black Friday.
  • Freeze changes from November 23: no new apps or theme edits during the sale.

For a fuller timeline, see our BFCM 2026 checklist.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best Shopify apps for Black Friday?

It depends on the job. For most stores, a good starting stack is one email app (such as Shopify Messaging or Klaviyo), one cart recovery tool, one offer app (such as BOGOS or Kaching Bundles), a free shipping bar, and a reviews app such as Judge.me.

How many apps should I install for BFCM?

As few as possible. Aim for one app per job, and avoid installing apps you can't test before the sale starts.

Are free plans enough for BFCM?

Often, yes, for smaller stores. Check the limits: several free plans cap monthly views, orders or subscribers, and those caps can run out during a busy weekend.

When should I install BFCM apps?

At least two weeks before Black Friday. That leaves time to configure, test on mobile and fix conflicts before traffic spikes.

Choose for your store, and start early

There's no single best app stack for BFCM. The right choices depend on your products, your customers' preferred channels, the size of your list and your budget. Start with the job that costs you the most sales, whether that's abandoned carts, a weak offer or low trust, and add one app at a time.

Whatever you choose, install it now. The apps that perform best on Black Friday are the ones that were tested in early November, not switched on the night before.
